Whit Devereaux Enterprises Presents: #NotByMyOwn Paint N Sip Fundraiser

  • Private Chicago, IL (map)

On October 27, 2018, we hosted the 1st Annual Domestic Violence Survivor Celebration at a private location in Chicago, IL. The 1st of it's kind, we were able to bring awareness to topics of domestic abuse, mental health, substance abuse, suicide, and legal options. In addition to this, we had various resources available onsite through our sponsors and vendors. A portion of the proceeds benefited a domestic violence housing agency in Chicago. Since then the #NotByMyOwn movement has grown to include its own nonprofit organization, Not By My Own Community Inc. and will be bringing forth this special event not only to fundraise, but to continue to spread awareness.

It is our belief that awareness and resources should be provided 365 days of the year. To help with that, our nonprofit hosts bi-annual events filled with resources for those impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse in addition to monthly and annual mentorship programs for women. Not By My Own Community, Inc., mission is to help survivors of domestic violence rebuild their lives; by providing a safe place for women to experience a life of wholeness through Jesus Christ.

With that said, we have partnered with a Chicago based paint n sip company to host survivors and their friends/family for the #NotByMyOwn Paint N Sip Brunch. Admission is $55 and will include your paint materials and instruction; brunch; beverages; access to vendors; swag bag; and your very own painting that you can take home as a souvenir and reminder that you are never alone in this journey. #NotByMyOwn

Registration is available now for attendees, donors, and sponsors. Vendor spaces are sold out. Volunteers are welcome and nonprofit Domestic Violence resource tables are complimentary; inquire about volunteer and resource table opportunities via email to notbymyowncommunityinc@gmail.com. A separate registration link will be sent to volunteers and nonprofit organizations. Donations are accepted and will benefit Not By My Own Community, Inc. programming. Space is limited as this will be an intimate event to celebrate life beyond abuse. Please note the location is private and will be released to registered participants prior to the event along with instructions for parking and options for transportation.
