"Overcoming & Becoming One with God"
Whit Devereaux tells her journey in overcoming abuse and becoming one with God through her blogs. As a woman who once struggled with low self esteem, teenage pregnancy, and abuse at the hands of those who claimed to love her, she knows first hand what it takes to overcome it all. God still has a purpose beyond the pain and can use even you to show someone else that it can be done. Follow the Overcoming & Becoming One with God series as Whit Devereaux shares the steps she took to finally become whole and free! For added support join Not By My Own Community!
It's been nearly 3 years since I wrote anything that I felt compelled to share with the Overcoming & Becoming One With God blog community. September 2021 to be exact. As we enter 2024, I finally have something to say. The truth is so much happened over this course of time that I didn't know where to begin. Subsequently I went into solitude, silenced for a season as I allowed the voice of God to be louder than the world's. I learned so much about trauma, grief, healing, mental health, and entrepreneurship during the last few years. I have five takeaways that may be able to help you or a friend start or even continue their own healing process so let's get into it.

In just one year, Blacks in Nonprofits (BIN) platform has grown to over 23,000 amazing nonprofit leaders of color from all over the world. Founded by Dr. Rhonika (Dr. Rho) Thomas, Blacks in Nonprofits’ focus is to connect blacks in the nonprofit sector across the world; to establish a positive space for coming together by supporting, networking, and sharing information pertaining to anything nonprofit (related); to build each other up and increase our impact collectively in our individual cities and neighborhoods. BIN’s motto is “Better Together.” As shared by Dr. Rho in the foreword of their newest book Blacks in Nonprofits: Marketing, Branding & Social Media How to Make Your Nonprofit Stand Out! “Throughout our BIN platform, questions on how to properly market your nonprofit came up frequently, and we wanted to provide a hands-on resource guide to assist with this task.”

Happy New Year! Before stepping into the next season, I like to reflect on the season I’m leaving. What went well? What didn’t go well? How can I improve? What am I most grateful for? These are just some of the questions I like to ask myself especially when it comes to gratitude. 2020 was a year unlike any other yet in the midst of it, I was able to overcome with gratitude. Listen and let me know how it resonates with you!
