Reader's Must Haves
December is here already. Wow, can you believe it? This is a good time of year to rest and reflect in preparation for the next year. I must say that 2017 has been both busy and blessed, but if I'm not careful to rest with God, I can find myself feeling overwhelmed.
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Matthew 11:28-30 MSG
This time of year, I especially like to stay in as the weather turns from cool to frigid cold in the windy city. While inside, I enjoy snuggling with a good book and some hot cocoa. As an author, I'm frequently asked what are some of the books that I enjoy? I decided to compile a short list of books I've read or am reading as we close out this year. I read mostly for inspiration, yet I also enjoy reading books that take you on a journey with the writer. Along with my book and mug full of hot cocoa, I have a journal and my favorite pen, ready to jot down any notes or takeaways that I don't want to forget. Reading can be fun. It can also be therapeutic. Have you read any on the list? Let me know in the comment section below! Happy Reading!
